Daily writing prompt
What was the last live performance you saw?

WWE WrstleMania XL which I am currently writing about.

Day 1 (April 3, 2024):

Boarded a 6:15 am Amtrak to Boston, subway ride to another station, then and hour layover till next Amtrak to Philly. Not much to write about here, but I’m always amazed at the wildlife in Boston. Here in New Hampshire birds and such approach you with caution. Boston, the birds will walk right up to you and take your crumbs right at your feet!! If your not careful, you’d be walking in Boston and you look to your right and there is a bird walking right along beside you!!

Anyways, not much to write about the Amtrak write about the Amtrak ride. I think I slept most of the way lol. Comfy. Hehehe

I arrived in Philly about 3 pm. I had trouble finding my Lyft driver cause I’m not from there (first trip to Philly), that was frustrating. Even got drenched in their random thunderstorm trying to my Lyft. Luckily only a few of my things got wet. I finally got to my Motel and this it where things take a turn a little bit….

I get checked in, get in my room and then I start noticing things. I’m looking around and the first thing notice is the hallway light in the back wont work and then I notice the lamp next to one of the beds is already on and wont turn off (no switch). I call the front desk and they send maintenance over. He took a look at things and also looked at the heater cause the cover was just hanging. He left to presumably go get some things, so I got comfy, and then he came back and told me I have to transfer to a different room because the heater doesn’t work. So I did. Then in the 2nd room I went into the bathroom fan made a funky sound! I went to the front desk and they handed me a key to another room (they transferred me to 3 rooms!!) and said “Hopefully this one is to your liking” and it was…. so thought……

Day 2:

I woke up with a usual headache (nothing new to me, dehydration and I didn't have a fan running), but the major part was I went to take a shower and the the shower drain was parcialy clogged! Being as I’ve been as I’ve been through that all and my own place as well I just let it go. More things to come regarding this motel…..

Anyways, I made my way over to the Philadelphia Convention Center for WWE World. But rewind a little bit. I woke up with my depression hitting. The normal just wanted to lay there in bed feeling like there no point. I struggled with this both on atleast Thursday and Friday. I just had remind myself why I was there (It was always my dream since following WWE in 1997 to go to WrestleMania) and that this is what we ( I ) saved up for. Also, it helped on my bus to town that I was able to talk about it with my sister.

On my way there, I stopped at a local hole in in the wall dunks. I say it that way cause it’s soo much smaller than my dunks back home. It’s like a hallway! Got my usual, but on the way from there to the convention center I had to stop at a Rite Aid cause I forgot my allergy meds back home and I ended up meeting a fellow WWE fan there cause he was wearing a very nice “Bray Wyatt/The Feind” jacket. He waited for me to finish and we ended up taking the same subway to the venue. Neither one of us knew where we were going and ended up missing the entrance for the subway and ended up backtracking lol. Come to find out he was from Canada in town for the same event. Very friendly. Ended up talking mostly talking about WWE stuff and the sad passing of WWEs’ Bray Wyatt the year before. It still hits home for us fans. Once we arrived in to the inner city, we luckily ran into this other fan, but he was also a local so the 3 of us were able to go there together until we got to the venue. Then we split up.

The venue setup was good. They had like allot of rooms combined into like 3 huge rooms. I had access to all!!! I think the first place I went to was the “WWE Superstore”. That was a site. There was a hallway with pictures of Superstores on the wall, but what stuck out to me was the “Championship Belt” portion of the store! Bright lights and a LED Screen. The store was also playing WWE superstars theme music songs which is what I listen to allot. Throughout the course of my stay I ended buying a WrestleMania program, collectors cup, and cap.

WWE World (their version of Fan Fest) was awesome! First off I was able to get though to pickup my passes with no problem at all! The entrance was filled with LEDs’ with vidoes of a mix of Philadelphia vids and videos of past WrestleManias. They had allot of displays of past Entrance Ramps and such and different shows aired there like WWEs The Bump and The Pat MacAfee Show as well as superstar artist signings and photo ops…….. But……. I’m getting a little ahead of myself. Lol.

On of my first shows to see was “The Bump”. I was able to sit in the live audience and made it on camera a couple of times (Its a live tv show on the Peacock Network). One of the hosts (Kayla Braxton) asked: “Ok whose traveled here the furthest?” I thought “Ok small crowd.. I’ll raise my hand”.

She calls on me:

Me: “New Hampshire”

Another Host Sam Roberts who is from NY: “Thats not that far”

Person Behind me: “Greece!”

Me (thinking to myself): “Ok. He Wins” lol

Side note: I got to talk with people from all over the world.

After the show, Chelsea Green let me take a selfie with her!

They had area that (as long as you had GA Tix to WWE World) you could get free pictures with WWE Superstars on “SuperStar Row” and the options would change like every hour. I waited in line for maybe 45 minutes (atleast it seemed) and I was able to get pics with NXTs Fallon Henley, The Judgement Days JD McDonnagh, and I was especially excited to meet Smackdowns Ivy Nyle.

I also got to see my favorite Cody Rhodes do a Q & A Session on the Main Stage which was really cool! “YEET”

One of the things that ment allot to me is I got to meetup with a old friend of mine there that I haven’t seen in about 20 years and met his wife and kid. Got to hang out with them for a bit and reminice and see some of the displays together. This guy, we used to hangout allot in my teen years and he really got me into watching wrestling in 1997 and that where I fell in love with it. The Attitude Ara as it was called back then and I’ve been basically following it ever since. His family also helped me out allot durring my teen years. Thanks bud!

I was also able to see the “one and only”, “The Great One”, “The Peoples’ Champion”, “The Final Boss” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He was almost two hours late to his interview on the Main Stage with Michael Cole (I was beginning to think that if he didn’t show we were gonna have a riot on our hands!), but it was worth the wait. He did a unplanned Q & A with the fans and some of the fans really got into it. One of them was running his mouth on the so loud on the mic I could barelly understand him. So fans near me were heckeling him so much that it got his atension. What was also cool was that he noticed that there was a kid that had a birthday so he brought him up on stage with him.

So I’m noticing that this blog is turning really long (no apologies here lol) so I think I’m gonna turn this into parts. This Blog is Part 1………. Part 2 coming soon so…..

To Be Continued……..

Just typing a couple of quick things before I head out to Philadelphia for WrestleMania. I’m scared and nervous. This morning I woke up thinking about tomorrow morning and I was scared stiff. I didnt wanna get out of bed.

Either way the trip is on. I leave at 5:30 am tomorrow. I know it’ll be fun, but I am scared. Man I sound weak. Roommate says its to be expected. I mean, I’m a small town guy who basically only goes back and forth to work ( and Dunks of course). Anyways just blogging some feelings. Gotta finish a few things before I sleep.

Later

For me its a XBOX Game, My current book, and some games on my phone.

I’m not sure what to write about. My goal is to at least write something once a week. Rainy day here in NH. My second day off of the week. Started packing for my trip next week. My vacation is starting out with Easter Dinner with the fam and then off to Philly Wensday!! Should be a great time. Possibly meeting up with an old friend and an old coworker.

Honestly, feeling kinda “Blah” today. You ever feel this way in rainy weather? Feeling “Blah” for no real reason? Looking forward to things but also wondering “Whats the point?”. Looking forward to getting away. I realize I struggle with depression and anxiety, but pushing through it with friends and family. Often times wonder what the future holds, but its a blank slate. Gotta work on my diet too. Probably would help me feel better about things.

Anyways just random thoughts,

Hello,

Thinking about starting this up again. If someone reads it… cool, if not, its a good “Brain Dump”. Havent posted on here in years.

Still living in Rochester. Still a huge WWE fan. Can’t take that outta me lol. Going to my first ever Wrestlemania this year!! WrestleMania 40. Its been on my bucket list for years!. Heading out to Philly in about 10 days. Excitement is hitting now. Taking a Amtrak, staying at a Motel 6, headed to WWE World (basically a Fan Fest) ( got VIP tickets to see Charlotte Flair!!), headed to my favorite tv show there too Smackdown at an arena there and they are having there Hall of Fame Ceremony. One of my favorite wrestling managers Paul Haymen is being inducted this year and I’m gonna be there live….. GAAAHHH!!! (Sorry that had to come out lol).

Then 2 nights of Wrestlemania!! Looking forward to the main events of both nights. Night one: Roman Reigns and (The Bloodline) vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins (high rules steaks). Night 2: Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes ( Come on Cody!!! Finish your story. I dont care if wrestling is pre-determined blah blah blah…… YOU GOT THIS!!).

Anyways, didn’t mean to go on and I didn’t even mean to type today. Just saw the post page and the blinking curser and went for it lol. Felt really good to type things out again. My make this a regular habit. We will see.

Like I said, if anyone reads this….. cool. If not, Ok.

Have a Great Day,

-Jaybo-

Hmmm…

Haven’t posted in a long time. Things have changed. Moved to Rochester. Been through a few situations and I’m back to church. I’ve been back to working at Panera for over 4 years now.

Sorry if I’m all over the place, just started writing this to get some thoughts out. I’m still a pretty passionate WWE fan. I’m actually watching WWE Crown Jewel 2019 as I’m writing.

I’m actually feeling bored. Like I don’t know what to do next. I always get to feeling this way this time of year. Especially when the weather is dreary rainy weather. Don’t know what to do next. Without work and church I got nothing! What’s next? I feel like I need a change. Need a hobby. Need more.

May add to this later….

Cars and Our Soul

So lets’ try this again. I tried to post something like this the other day, but the title showed up, but not the message. What up with that?

Anyways, the theme is “Cars and Our Soul”. Often times think about our car we think just put in gas and it’ll get us from here to there or check the oil, but we never think about what is going on underneath our cars till either car inspection time or it’s too late and something happens to our car. You could have a hole rotting in your crossbar/tie rod and not even know it!

I think the same goes for our souls. We pay attention to what we eat or drink or put on the outside, but we barely ever think about what we are feeding our souls ( aka: what type of movies or TV shows are you watching, what are looking up on the internet, or places that you are going)?

“The Eyes are the window to your soul”

― William Shakespeare

Garbage in, garbage out. If you are listening to filth, then it’ll eventually affect what do and the way you act in the future. What can you do now to make your future better and not go down the wrong path?Just a thought-provoking question. I think a preventative measure is to be careful what you feed your soul.

“O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see”

Psalm 139:23 – 24 (NIV)

“Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Just Some Thoughts,
-Jaybo-
